Bag storage will be provided for those taking part at the same place you collect your bib from, in the former Volvic factory, on Friday 22 May. For security reasons, bags cannot be transported as part of VVX.

·         Are poles and sticks allowed on the trails?

Yes, they’re allowed.

·         Are any GPX routes available for the trails?

Yes, you can view them by clicking on the pages below, then on the ‘GPX File’ tab:

– The Great Volcanic Crossing Experience (XGTV) 220km

– Chaîne des Puys – Limagne Fault Experience 110km

– Volvic Catchment Area Experience 43km

– Volcanic Experience Trail 25km

– Lava Stone Experience 15km

·         What are the cut-off times for the trails?

The cut-off times are calculated in order to enable participants to reach the finish-line within the maximum time allowed, while also making potential stops (supply points, etc.).

Ultra Trail Chaîne des Puys-Limagne Fault Experience (110 km):

    • – 1st: 9:30 am at the top of the Puy de Dôme (starting point for the 2nd relay runner in the trio relays) at km 29.
    • 2nd: 2:30 pm at the refuelling station on the access road to the Puy de Dôme, at the level of the automatic barrier (departure of the 3rd relay runner for trio relays), km 60, access on foot from the car park of the panoramic view of the Dômes in the direction of the Puy de Dôme.
    • GPS point: Lat.° Lon.° 45.77003N 2.97991 E
    • – 3rd: 7:00 pm at the Espinasse quarry refuelling station at km 88.
    • – 4th: 9:00 pm at the refuelling station at the village of Facemenier at km 99.

In order to be allowed to continue the race, runners must leave the checkpoint before the cut-off time. The organisation reserves the right to remove from the race any competitor who is clearly not able to complete the race. The individuals taken out of the race will be repatriated by the volunteer teams to the event’s village.

Any runner who is taken out of the race and who wants to continue on his/her route will only be able to do so after returning his/her bib, under his/her own responsibility and completely autonomously, with the understanding that the race sweepers (serre-files) invalidate the bib number.

Runners must communicate any decision to forfeit the race to the organisation, which (except for apparent medical reasons) is possible at checkpoints only.

For the Ultra Trail Chaîne des Puys-Limagne Fault Experience relay races, all relay runners must have left by the cut-off time. However, if the expected relay runner has not yet arrived, he/she may finish his/her relay. The team will then be automatically ranked after the teams having complied with all cut-off times.

·         How to sign up for sports activities when you’re a sports club/group of friends or colleagues?

On the Sportips registrations module, you’ll find a specific tab entitled ‘register a group’. You can then enter the required information about all participants. You will receive an offered bib (the cheapest) every 10 registered.

·         Where and when do the prize ceremonies for the trails take place?

The prizes ceremonies will take place on Friday 22 May (upcoming information about the hours).

·         Are dogs allowed on the trails/hikes?

Dogs are not allowed on the trails, but are allowed on hikes, so long as they remain on a lead.

·         Is it possible to hike with children in a pushchair?

No. It is strongly recommended you use a baby sling to carry young children.

·         How can I cancel my registration for sports activities? And by when?

In the event of illness or accident, registration will be refunded only if cancellation insurance is taken and upon request received before 20 May 2020 at midnight.
